Description:

The project focuses on the use of Zophobas morio insect meal and microalgae biomasses (eg Schizochytrium, Nannochloropsis, Phaeodactylum). A series of fish feeding trials and lab analyses will be performed to study the dietary effects of insect meals and microalgae on a number of metabolic processes that affect both the physiology of fish and the quality of the final product. The ultimate goal is to provide new applied knowledge and to promote an environmentally
sustainable, innovative and competitive Greek aquaculture that adopts European and international directives on "Best Aquaculture Practices" and "Responsible Aquaculture" and satisfies the world demand for safe, nutritious and healthy fish for the human consumer.
