Description:
The “EMODnet Biology 5” project is part of the European Marine Observation and Data Network (EMODnet) with the aim of ensuring the free access of European marine data by the international scientific community and the general public. The current phase will be a continuation of the previous 4 phases with an emphasis on the exploitation of available biodiversity data for the Eastern Mediterranean and North Africa regions, which will be stored in the Mediterranean Node of OBIS, MedOBIS. Specifically, an effort will be made to collect new biogeographical and genomic data for the Eastern Mediterranean and North Africa region, seminars will be organized on how to manage and publish such data, while actions are also foreseen to involve civil society (citizen science) in the process of processing and open publication of research data.
