Development of feeding protocols, feeding behavior of larvae and fish, ontogeny, and plasticity of the organs associated with feeding behavior of marine species in aquaculture (visual system, digestive system).
My research interests are focused on the study of the behavioral activity of farmed species in aquaculture. Specifically, my main research interest focuses on the ontogeny and plasticity of the organs associated with the feeding behavior of the marine species in aquaculture. Furthermore, my interests lay on the study of the factors that influence the development of these organs in the early stages of development. The aftermath of this procedure is performed in the evaluation and optimization of the feeding protocols during the larval rearing procedure. The abovementioned procedure is based on the synchronization of ontogeny and the configuration of the organs and systems of fish larvae that are associated with feeding behavior (digestive system, vision system, taste, and smell), with the feeding protocol and larval rearing conditions. Additionally, I study the behavior of farmed fish under the influence of different endogenous or exogenous factors in order to succeed in the development of new farming technologies aimed to increase the welfare and production indexes.
