Τhe first Ocean Decade Laboratory on the Decade Outcome ‘An Inspiring and Engaging Ocean’ is taking place on 7-8 July 2021 as a virtual event providing a platform for diverse stakeholders and encouraging collaborative actions. It will explore how we can positively influence behavior change and support action. Hosted by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research in partnership with IOC-UNESCO, the Laboratory will be complemented by a diverse range of international Satellite Activities.On 8 July (2-3:30 PM CEST), the EuroGOOS Ocean Literacy Network, in which HCMR is a member, is organizing an activity to discuss the role of scientists as ocean literacy advocates and the societal engagement activities in the EuroGOOS community.
Yolanda Koulouri, which is a Senior Researcher at the Institute of Marine Biology, Biotechnology & Aquaculture of HCMR will present the development of “Mediterranean Sea Literacy” in collaboration with the Mediterranean Working Group of European Marine Science Educators Association.
