Trophomics, multi-omics and beyond at the BRFAA

Abstract: Multilevel “omic” approaches are the new standard in determining the complexity of biological systems associated with food. Utilization of multi-omics in the field of food sciences is referred to as “trophomics”. Investment in technological edge as well as development of novel analytical methodologies has brought the Biomedical Research Foundation of the Academy of Athens (BRFAA) in the forefront of basic and translational research at the national level. In this seminar, key aspects of BRFAA Core Facilities’ capabilities will be covered towards establishing meaningful collaborations with the Institute of Marine Biology, Biotechnology & Aquaculture on studying animals and the marine environment itself in the aquaculture setting.
