IMBBC participated in the training course for the International Oceanographic Data and Information Exchange (IODE) Quality Management System Essentials
The OceanTeacher Global Academy (https://classroom.oceanteacher.org/) hosted a training course for the IODE Quality Management System Essentials from 16-18 January 2024, in Ostend, Belgium. This course introduced the development, implementation, and management of a Quality Management System, which will assist the participated Institutes in the adoption of comprehensive management practices and increased confidence in the quality of their data, products, and services.
The course was attended by 15 participants representing different marine Institutes around the world, including the Institute of Marine Biology, Biotechnology and Aquaculture (IMBBC) of HCMR.
The programme “International Oceanographic Data and Information Exchange” of the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission of UNESCO, was established in 1961 and its purpose is to enhance marine research by facilitating the exchange of oceanographic data and information.
The IODE Quality Management Framework supports the IODE global network of National Oceanographic Data Centres (NODC) and Associate Data Units (ADU) that provides data and services to the wider marine community. As part of the IODE Quality Management Framework, NODCs and ADUs are encouraged to implement a quality management system and apply for accreditation.
