Invited Talk 16/10 – Dr Sébastien Villéger, Fish biodiversity on the edge of a warming Mediterranean Sea

On Thursday, 16 October at 12:00, Dr Sébastien Villéger, CNRS Senior Researcher at the University of Montpellier and hosted at IMBBC in the frame of AQUASERV trans-national access, will present an invited talk titled:
 
“Fish biodiversity on the edge of a warming Mediterranean Sea”
 
The lecture will take place at the Pascal Divanach room (Aqualabs building) of HCMR Crete. A brief CV of the speaker follows below.

Την Πέμπτη 16 Οκτωβρίου στις 12:00, ο Dr Sébastien Villéger, Ερευνητής CNRS στο Πανεπιστήμιο του Μονπελιέ και φιλοξενούμενος στο ΙΘΑΒΒΥΚ στο πλαίσιο διεθνικής πρόσβασης του έργου AQUASERV, θα παρουσιάσει διάλεξη με τίτλο:
 
“Fish biodiversity on the edge of a warming Mediterranean Sea”
 
Η διάλεξη θα πραγματοποιηθεί στην Αίθουσα Πασκάλ Ντιβανάκ των Aqualabs του ΕΛΚΕΘΕ Κρήτης. Ακολουθεί σύντομο βιογραφικό του ομιλητή.
 

 

Short CV: 
Sébastien Villéger is a senior researcher at French National Center for Scientific Research.
He is a fish ecologist with experience in assessing impacts of human activities on fish biodiversity. 
He has led an interdisciplinary projects on biology and ecology of herbivorous fishes in the Mediterranean Sea
He is currently leading researches in applying deep learning algorithms to monitor fish biodiversity on underwater videos.
He is collaborating to projects about the effect of marine heatwaves on fish biology and fish biodiversity.
