Research Directions:
Fish nutrition and feeding
Description:
The aim of the program is to develop a non-invasive, reliable and relatively simple methodology for locating the effects of stress on farmed fish. The objectives are the detection, analysis and quantitative assessment of the effects of stress in laboratory and commercial conditions, of two Mediterranean species: the sea bream (Sparus aurata) and the sea bass (Dicentrarchus labrax), using parametric changes in the skin, gills and cutaneous mucus and the choice of detailed methods and stress parameters that will prove to be reliable and easy to use.
