Ontogeny and plasticity of the organs, Optimization of rearing protocols, Study of different behavioral patterns

The study of particular behavioural patterns of farmed species leads to the correct modification of rearing parameters and conditions, according to the specific requirements for farmed species. We study the behavioural activity of marine farmed species under the influence of different parameters and conditions (light intensity and spectrum, temperature) during the rearing procedure.

Additionally, the study of the ontogeny and plasticity of the biological functional systems – organs which are related to the expression of different behavioural patterns, targets the development and improvement of rearing methodologies aiming towards the optimization of welfare and production indices.
