Eirini Gratsia (applicant) is currently a PhD candidate in the University of Crete and HCMR, working on molecular approaches for the study of alien marine macroinvertebrates of the eastern Mediterranean, specializing in the distribution of cryptic species of the Ascidiaceae family. She has expertise on molecular biology (DNA barcoding and metabarcoding). She has worked in European projects on alien species, DNA barcoding of various macroinvertebrates and identification of species found aggregating in ship hauls. She has also participated in a number of samplings in marinas, for her PhD and for other projects as well.
