I am a Geneticist with a Master's degree in Medical Genetics. In 2007 I got my PhD in Medicine and for the next five years I was working in the private sector, offering Molecular diagnosis services, mainly from the post of the Lab manager and owner.
In 2015 I began working at IMBBC-HCMR, as a post-doctoral researcher with main research interests in Marine Microbial Biodiversity, Metabarcoding and Environmental Genomics.
Since 2018 I have been actively involved in the Ocean Sampling Day campaign (OSD) with the role of the Communication coordinator and since 2021 I participate to the coordination and organisation of the Atlantic Ecosystems Assessment, Forecasting and Sustainability (AtlantECO) sampling campaigns.
In 2020 I was offered the post of the National communication officer for EMBRC (The European Marine Biological Resource Centre) and since 2021 I am a member of the operational committee of the European Marine Omics Biodiversity Network (EMOBON), while at the same time I co-coordinate the Greek team of the network.
