Vasiliki Ilia is a highly experienced Ichthyologist with more than 17 years of experience in the husbandry and nutrition of the Mediterranean fish species (seabass, seabream, meagre, red porgy, sharpsnout seabream). In addition, she has a long-standing experience in fish feed production, biochemical analytical techniques for fish feeds and fish tissues (total nitrogen - Kjeldahl procedure; total fats - Soxhlet procedure; fibrous substances, carbohydrates, total minerals – ash content, use of biochemical analyzers for blood and serum and amino acids. She is trained for accreditation of laboratories according to the revised ISO 17025:2017 standard of the Hellenic Chemical Society and qualifies as a certified analyst in the Laboratory of Nutrition and Pathology of HCMR which is an Accredited Laboratory of the National Laboratory Accreditation System (ESYD) in accredited chemical tests of this laboratory according to the international standard ISO / IEC 170. She has been involved in various EU, national, and industry-funded research projects.
