Dr Yolanda Koulouri is a biologist who studied for a PhD in Marine Biology/Ecology at the University of Crete. She has been working as a Senior Researcher at the Institute of Marine Biology, Biotechnology & Aquaculture (IMBBC) of the Hellenic Centre for Marine Research (HCMR) in Crete since 2016. She has an adequate experience working on funded research projects concerning marine biodiversity, benthic ecology, coastal zone management, development of recreational diving parks and no-take zones by using artificial reefs and Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs). She is the author of more than 35 publications in Scientific Journals and more than 50 announcements in Scientific Conferences. She is a member of the European Marine Science Educators Association (EMSEA). She is also a member and co-chair (2021-2024) of the Expert Working Group on Ocean Literacy of the European Global Ocean Observing System (EuroGOOS) and representative for HCMR of EU4Ocean Platform participating in its Working Groups activities in order to design OL action in Europe. She is a member of the Scientific Council of IMBBC. Lately, she has become CEO of the spin-off company of Artificial Reef Innovative Applications.
