We would like to invite you to the 1st Webinar organised in the framework of the ΗORIZON -EU NEXTMARINE project (https://www.nextmarine-project.eu/), entitled:
“From sampling to sharing: Legal rules for marine biodiversity”
The webinar will address key legal and regulatory aspects related to the access, use, transfer and sharing of marine genetic resources and associated data, including the Nagoya Protocol and Access and Benefit-Sharing (ABS), MTAs, Digital Sequence Information (DSI), the BBNJ Agreement, FAIR data principles, and the exploitation of research results.
HCMR will contribute to the webinar with two presentations:
– Paraskevi Polymenakou, Ph.D.: “Global Biodiversity Framework and related special regimes: Digital Sequence Information on genetic resources and the BBNJ Agreement”
– Ioannis Rallis, M.Sc.: “Data governance and FAIR principles: metadata, repositories, access conditions, and reuse”
