-Epigenetics during reproduction, immune response and development
-Functional Genomics comprising differential gene expression and gene regulation
-Comparative genomics to study gene evolution
My research activities are around teleost development, stress and disease response, as well as reproduction. Therefore, I apply available state-of-the-art technologies to tackle functional and comparative genomics as well as epigenetic mechanisms in commercially important Mediterranean aquaculture species. I participate in several large, EU-funded projects mainly involved as an expert in genetics and functional genomics. I have a fine background in bioinformatics enabling me to perform analyses of sequencing data, genotyping data, expression data as well as protein data.
