Marine biodiversity, benthic ecology, marine caves, dark habitats, benthic invertebrates, sponges, corals, non-indigenous species, bioconstructions, marine conservation, citizen science, scientific diving, biodiversity informatics
My research focuses on marine biodiversity and benthic ecology, with special emphasis on benthic invertebrates, dark habitats (marine caves and deep-sea habitats), and non-indigenous species. I have been also involved in the development of biodiversity databases, citizen science initiatives and methods for underwater biological research with SCUBA diving.
